OUR APPROACH

Understand Before Acting

Every organization is different.

Its history matters. Its people matter. Its leadership matters. The pressures it faces matter.

That is why we do not arrive with a predetermined answer or a rigid process.

We begin by understanding the organization and the context surrounding the challenge. From there, we design an approach that fits what the organization actually needs.

Our work generally moves through FOUR connected phases:

#1 – SEE

Understand What Is Really Happening

Organizations contain multiple realities.

Leaders may see the organization differently from employees. One team may experience a process differently from another. The formal structure may not reflect how decisions are actually made.

We gather information from the people closest to the work and examine patterns across the system.

Depending on the engagement, this may include interviews, surveys, assessments, focus groups, process review, data analysis, observation, and facilitated conversation.

The goal is to develop a more complete and useful understanding of the organization.

#2 – ALIGN

Build Shared Understanding Around What Matters

Information alone does not create change.

Leaders and teams need opportunities to make sense of what has emerged, examine different perspectives, identify priorities, and make decisions about what comes next.

We create the structure for those conversations.

Alignment does not mean everyone thinks the same way. It means there is enough shared clarity about the situation, direction, and expectations to move forward.

#3 – MOVE

Turn Insight Into Action

Once the organization understands what is happening and what needs to change, we help translate that understanding into action.

The solution may involve leadership behavior, organizational structure, communication, team development, role clarity, systems, processes, coaching, or a combination of interventions.

We build around the need rather than forcing the organization into a predetermined service.

#4 – SUSTAIN

Build Ownership and Capability

Consulting work should not create unnecessary dependence on the consultant.

We help organizations build internal ownership, accountability, and capability so progress can continue.

Depending on the work, this may include leadership coaching, implementation support, accountability structures, internal tools, communication systems, measurement, and follow-up assessment.

Our Role

Sometimes our role is to ask questions.

Sometimes it is to challenge assumptions.

Sometimes it is to facilitate a conversation that has been difficult to have.

Sometimes it is to help leaders make sense of conflicting information.

Sometimes it is to build a system, develop leaders, coach an executive, or help an organization move through change.

The work changes because organizations and situations are different.

Our commitment is consistent: understand the system, tell the truth about what we see, and help organizations create meaningful movement.
